Chapter Leader Resources
Thank you for serving as a volunteer chapter leader for NCCC! On this page, you’ll find the information you need for your chapter, including details on planning events, finding educational materials and resources, fundraising, and more.
Getting Started
As you launch your chapter, you’ll need to fill out an annual plan form to outline the events planned for your chapter for the year ahead. The plan is due annually by March 15 and covers the period from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. If you are a new chapter leader, you would start filling out from the current month.
If you would like business cards for your chapter, you can fill out the business card form. The first 100 business cards per chapter leader are provided free from NCCC.

Planning and Managing Events
NCCC chapter leaders help educate their local communities about cervical cancer prevention through a variety of events. To help make sure events run smoothly, we ask you to work with NCCC’s chapter manager both before and after your event. There two forms are required for all events:
We ask that you submit a pre-event form at least 14 days before your planned event. The pre-event form helps us know what you’re planning and what materials you might need. It also lets us know if there are any companies that may be involved in event or if there are any licensing requirements for city or state. For example, a special license might be needed for a raffle.
After your event is over, we ask you to fill out a post-event form within 30 days so we can see how it went and help manage any financial matters (e.g. expenses, donations).
Financial Forms
You may need to request funds to pay an event vendor for an invoice or to get reimbursed for expenses paid out of pocket. In these cases, use the appropriate form below.
On-Site Forms
If you plan on taking photos at your event, use the Media Release form to ensure you have permission from those in your photos. If you’d like to collect contact information from event attendees, use the sign up form.
Event Volunteers
Please be sure to have volunteers at your events sign a waiver, it protects you and the NCCC!
Educational Materials
As cervical cancer prevention advocates, chapter leaders educate others in their communities. NCCC and its parent organization—the American Sexual Health Association—has reliable, scientifically accurate printable material that you can download print and share at your events. You can also share links to this content on your social media channels. The last item on this list is a PDF with fillable fields you can customize with contact information for your chapter.
- Cervical Cancer Screening and Pap Tests
- HPV Vaccine
- HPV Q&A
- Understanding Pap Results
- Podemos Prevenir el Cancer Cervical
- We Can Prevent Cervical Cancer
- We Can Prevent Cervical Cancer: Fillable
- Taking Care of your Sexual Health When you Have Cervical Cancer
- Talking to Your Friends and Family About Your Cancer
Another great resource to share on social media is Understanding Cervical Cancer Prevention. This educational tool is for patients who are 1) about to have a Pap test or 2) who have had abnormalities detected with a Pap. The idea is to educate patients so they have a better understanding of their tests and procedures and also to improve interactions with their healthcare team.
Fundraising Activities
Fundraising events and activities help you raise funds to support your chapter and your educational outreach. Chapter leaders have done all kinds of fundraising events, from walk-a-thons to benefit dinners and BBQs to Zumba events. You are only limited by your imagination! However, you don’t necessarily have to come up with your own idea—below are manuals that outline examples of successful fundraisers run by your fellow chapter leaders. You can use these as a guide to run your pwn successful fundraiser. As a reminder, pre-event and post-event forms are required for fundraising events.

ASHA’s chief financial officer maintains accounts for all NCCC chapters. A report of chapter funds is made available on this site and is updated frequently. If you have any questions about your current chapter funds, contact NCCC’s chapter manager.
Additonal Resources
NCCC Products and Materials
If you need any products for an event, you can request those on the pre-event form. However, if you are looking for materials (e.g. pins, t-shirts) that are not for a specific event, use the non-event order form here. To see the current cost of materials for chapter leaders, click here.
Media Relations
As a chapter leader, you have a platform as an advocate. The guide to media outreach below offers advice on using this platform effectively, guidance on reaching out to traditional media, and crafting your message. You’ll also find examples of successful efforts by other chapter leaders.
70/30 Split Policy
This policy serves to explain the 70/30 split. Chapters of the National Cervical Cancer Coalition, a program of ASHA, have the task of raising funds to be divided between ASHA, to manage the NCCC program, and the chapter, to educate their community about cervical cancer.
