Chapter leader Sharryl Thomas-Travis has worked in the nursing and medical field for over twenty years. She is the founder and president of the S.A.V.E.D 4 Life Cancer Corporation, a holistic cancer coach, and a cancer patient navigator. She is also a co-host of the Deleon Dialogue Cancer Talk Show podcast.
Travis-Thomas’ advocacy work takes her beyond NCCC. She is a member of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center Community Advisory Board, the Mount Sinai Hospital Cancer Committee, and the New York State Cancer Consortium, among others.
The Bronx chapter provides services in S4LCC Cancer Resource Stations located in Harlem and Bronx These include:
- Virtual and in-person cancer workshops and presentations in women’s, young mothers. teens and family homeless shelters, ministries and communities
- Cancer during COVID community discussions
- Cancer Talk Radio show
- Free holistic cancer and life coaching
- Cancer patient navigation services for cancer patients, survivors and family members
