Chapter Leader: Maysa Hilou

My name is Maysa Hilou, and I am the team leader of the Wilmington chapter of the NCCC. I am passionate about being part of an organization that focuses on women’s health and support. In the past, I have collaborated with community health leaders to ensure that women in the Wilmington region have access to Pap smears and essential opportunities to reduce cervical cancer rates. I have played a crucial role in promoting awareness around cervical cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of the HPV vaccine. With a strong commitment to women’s health, I have conducted research on the barriers to reproductive healthcare access among ethnic and minority women across the United States. My work emphasizes the need for culturally competent care and health equity.

Through advocacy, education, and research, I remain dedicated to empowering communities and improving health outcomes for all women. I am currently pursuing my master’s in public health at East Carolina University, and I aim to further my education to become a Physician Assistant. I continually strive to be involved in the community and contribute to the NCCC. As I advance in my public health journey and work towards my goal of becoming a Physician Assistant, I remain deeply committed to promoting women’s health through advocacy, education, and community engagement. My involvement with the NCCC showcases my dedication to reducing health disparities and ensuring that every woman, regardless of her background, has access to life-saving prevention and care. I am proud to lead the Wilmington chapter and look forward to continuing to serve, support, and uplift the communities we reach through the NCCC’s mission
