Arlene is the NCCC chapter leader for Suffolk County, New York.  She is a Nurse Practitioner in GYN Oncology and is currently pursuing her DNP (Doctorate of Nursing Practice) at S.U.N.Y Buffalo.  Her decision to be a chapter leader for the NCCC comes from her role as a GYN Oncology Nurse Practitioner who helps in the treatment of patients with cervical cancer in collaboration with GYN Oncologists.  She has the opportunity to teach her patients about how they can prevent further disease and to educate them in their health literacy regarding their gynecological health and their health overall.  She is passionate about making a difference in her community and wishes to expand her educational efforts to reach women and girls and teach them how to advocate for themselves in preventing a cervical cancer diagnosis. Arlene and her team is working hard to bring awareness to the Suffolk County population.  She is an active fundraiser for cervical cancer prevention and education and her plan is to decrease the incidence of cervical cancer for Suffolk County, New York.
