NCCC Maryland (College Park) Chapter

Maeve Markland
Maeve Markland

Maeve is a third-year Public Health Major at the University of Maryland-College Park (UMD), with plans to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant and work in oncology and women’s health. She currently works as a communication and media intern for a mental health non-profit and is pursuing a role as a certified clinical medical assistant. As the founder and leader of the College Park chapter, Maeve hopes to create a campus environment where college-aged women feel informed and empowered when it comes to cervical cancer screening, prevention, and HPV risks. Having grown up in Baltimore City Maryland, Maeve is especially driven to extend the chapter’s impact, partnering with local institutions and raising funds to support cervical cancer screening for low-income and disproportionately affected women in the Baltimore and Prince-George County area.
