Sabrina and Jordana are NCCC chapter leaders in North Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Their decision to become leaders came about while raising awareness for HPV (human papillomavirus) in a small community near their hometown. They were able to educate the community members about the importance of the HPV vaccine, as well as Pap and HPV testing.
In conjunction with other students, they were able to raise over $1,000 for the community in the hope of improving their daily life aspects. During this event, they met a cervical cancer survivor who expressed her story and humbly thanked them for advocating for cervical cancer. They were so touched, they wanted to create a sustainable project to help as many women as possible through awareness, fundraising, and advocacy.
Their goal is to make women with cervical cancer across the country feel heard, understood, and never alone. Jordana and Sabrina are both 4th-year medical students who plan on becoming obstetrician-gynecologists, with a vision and passion to continue making a difference in the lives of women by becoming their allies throughout different aspects of life. Together they are determined to make this chapter positively impactful for generations to come.
