Chapter Leader Nia Casey
Hello! I’m Nia, a 33-year-old from southern West Virginia that we like to call “Almost Heaven.” I live with my husband, Cody, and our two sons, Corbin (10) and Carter (9). We love and enjoy all outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and playing sports.
After neglecting my health for over a decade, I finally got an annual Pap smear in October 2024, despite feeling fine. This led to the discovery of abnormal cells, CIN III, and eventually a diagnosis of cervical cancer on February 3, 2025. Initially shocked and terrified, I found strength through prayer and support. I am now advocating for women’s health awareness. I am awaiting PET and MRI scans for further staging of the cancer and praying my scheduled abdominal, radical hysterectomy will be all the treatment I need.
My experience has motivated me to emphasize the importance of regular check-ups and preventative care. I aim to inspire other women to prioritize their health and well-being, as I believe this is my purpose. After researching and finding NCCC, I was eager to jump into an opportunity to start a chapter here in West Virginia to touch as many women’s lives as possible.
