About Elizette
Elizette is a third-year medical student, and as a chapter co-leader for the NCCC in Ft. Lauderdale, FL she is committed to breaking down barriers to cervical health through education, advocacy, and collaboration. Her passion for women’s health began at SOLCA Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where she worked in gynecological oncology and witnessed the life-changing impact of early detection and treatment. This experience drives her efforts to ensure that every woman, regardless of background, has access to preventive care.
About Emma
Emma is a second-year medical student originally from Sarasota, FL, who is passionate about increasing awareness for cervical cancer prevention. After seeing family members go through treatment and experiencing her own cancer scare, she decided to pursue a career in gynecological oncology. As a chapter co-leader, she hopes to break down barriers to understanding risks and seeking care by providing education and increasing awareness throughout the community. In doing so, she aims to build women’s confidence to advocate for their health care.
About the Chapter
Together, Elizette and Emma aim to increase awareness of cervical cancer prevention by hosting a variety of fun, educational events within their community. They hope to empower women of all ages to take charge of their health by hosting free health fairs that provide education and resources where they are most needed. By collaborating with local clubs and shelters, we will empower women throughout the Oakland Park community to take control of their health while advocating for equitable access to lifesaving care.
