NCCC California (Claremont) Chapter
My name is Anindya, and I am a third-year student at Scripps College in Claremont, CA. In the future, I hope to become an OB/GYN and devote my life to women’s health. Through my volunteering experiences in this field over the past two years, I have seen the strength and resilience of women during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. These experiences have also made me increasingly aware of the impact cervical cancer can have on patients and their families and have shown me just how important education, prevention, and early detection truly are.
Because of this, I have become deeply interested in cervical cancer awareness and advocacy. When I learned about the NCCC, I was inspired by the organization’s commitment to education, prevention, and support for those affected by cervical cancer. I wanted to establish an NCCC chapter in Claremont so that I could help educate others about HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening, and the importance of preventive care. More than anything, I hope to create a community that makes conversations about cervical cancer and HPV more open, accessible, and empowering.
I hope this chapter can play a part in making cervical cancer a disease of the past rather than one that continues to take women’s lives, and help ensure that more women have the knowledge, support, and opportunity to protect their health and their futures.
