Join NCCC in Celebrating 30 Years
Thirty years ago, the National Cervical Cancer Coalition began with a simple but powerful goal: to make sure people affected by cervical cancer and HPV had somewhere to turn for information, support, and hope.
Founded in 1996 by Alan and Randi Kaye, NCCC grew out of a need they saw firsthand. At the time, support groups existed for many types of cancer, but there were few dedicated spaces for people affected by cervical cancer and HPV. NCCC was created to help fill that gap.
From its earliest days, the need was clear. Calls, emails, and letters came in from people looking for accurate information about cervical cancer and HPV. NCCC responded by providing resources, creating educational materials, raising awareness, and working to reduce the stigma surrounding HPV and gynecologic cancers.
Over the decades, that grassroots effort has grown into a nationwide network united by a shared commitment to cervical health. NCCC has continued to expand its reach through education, advocacy, and local chapters across the country. The organization has also helped bring greater attention to cervical cancer prevention, including through the annual recognition of Cervical Health Awareness Month each January.
While much has changed since 1996, the heart of NCCC’s work remains the same: supporting people affected by cervical cancer and HPV while giving communities the information and resources they need to advocate for their health.

This anniversary is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and a reminder that the work continues.
