A message from Chapter Leader Ashley Altman:
Hello and welcome!
I am the North Georgia/Metro Atlanta Chapter leader. I am a mother of 3, wife and photographer. I am also currently battling Cervical Cancer; been fighting the good fight since 2009. I've under gone many treatments, and surgeries, and I will continue to fight this. Before I was diagnosed I was pretty clueless about HPV and cervical cancer, even though my education is in Nursing. During my schooling HPV was a very tiny topic that was covered in about 10 minutes. Over the past few years I felt alone and hopeless though determination and the drive to educate myself further, and to educate other individuals I strive to be part of a support system as well as an educator. In contacting the National Cervical Cancer Coalition I have come so far; I also am honored to have been accepted and have the support from ASHA/NCCC. If you are in need of support or information I can be contacted via e-mail at any time I assure you I will do the best I can in helping you, and providing you with a prompt response. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you can e-mail me as well; I hope we will have many events to come, and that this chapter will flourish.
