I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer when I was in my 20s. Fortunately, I already had a child because I eventually had to have a hysterectomy and my ovaries removed. I was in poverty and a single mom at the time. As a result, I did not receive much support. For years, I did not deal with my losses. Now I am in therapy. It is important to seek support, as I learned. I was sorry to lose my ability to have children but grateful I am still here.
