Hello, I wanted to share with everyone some good news for a change in hopes that it will help everyone remain positive. I was diagnosed with stage 1b1 adenocarcinoma of the cervix in 2007. Tomorrow I am going out to celebrate 5 years cancer free!! I had a trachelectomy back in 2007 and have, for the past 5 years, travelled from CT to NY up to 4 times a year for doctor visits, Pet scans, MRI^s, CT scans, etc. It was a hassel that is for sure, but to be able to say today that I am 5 years cancer free, is one of the best feelings ever, and was worth every trip! My advice, stay positive, change your diet or exercise (as needed) and find a doctor/hospital that you feel completely comnfortable with. I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering to Dr. Abu-Rustuum, and had so much confidence in him and his team that it made such a difference. God bless you all and remember to be good to yourselves!
