  • I am a cancer survivor
  • I am not sure if I qualify as a cancer survivor, as I am yet to find out if I have cancer. 4 years ago I was diagnosed with high risk HPV with CIN3 Squamous Cell lesions. I had 2 LEEPS and they said I was clear. I went in for regular checkups every 3 months and was cleared, had my daughter in march of 08 and was cleared at my postpartum checkup. That was a year and 8 months ago. I moved on and didnt get any more paps since, until last month. (My bad, I should have known better than to go that long) My dec09 pap came back with Atypical Glandular Cells. I went in last week for an ECC and the Dr removed a piece he saw on my cervix for biopsy. I am now in the 3 week waiting period to find out what it is that is causing the abnormality, or what stage I guess it is?
Has anyone else had a similiar progression? Does the squamous cell change into the glandular over time or spread that way? I am so nervous that I let too much time go by between paps, and so mad at myself, cause I knew better. I am assuming, based on what I read, that the next natural step is a Cone Biopsy. I am just unsure if a year & 8 months is long enough for something like this to hit a bad point, or if I am early enough to catch it.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    God Bless!!!
