My story begins almost 3 yrs ago, I was 31 yrs old with a 4 and 2 yr old, I was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. The doctors did a radical hysterectomy and lymphectomy. After the lymph node biopsy came back negative it was determined that I did not need chemo or radiation. I did go for a second opinion and the reaction was the same. Two and a half years later I had this terrible pain in my ovaries and lower back. After a ct scan was done they found a tumor next to my tail bone, one by my right ovary and the liver looked suspicious. My whole world pretty much came to an end, my kids are only 7 and 5 now and still need a mom!!
My doctor decided I should go for a PET scan, and Bone scan. It came back with just a cyst in the liver, so that was good. Surgery was scheduled and he removed the tumor next to my tailbone, and my ovaries. I had to do 25 radiation treatments and 6 weeks of chemo. I just finished up jan.9th. Feeling pretty good now but the thought of it returning again is pretty scary. My oncologist did say, had they radiated the first time after surgery that node wouldnt have been there. If this happens to you GET THE RADIATION!! maybe you won\^t have to go through it twice.
