I\^m 34 years old, married almost 2 yrs and a mommy of a wonderful baby boy.
May 19th 2008 I was diagnosed with rare form of cervical cancer. Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. This all started with an abnormal pap in January 2007. I had just found out I was pregnant with our son. My OB did a colposcopy after the abnormal pap and it came back fine. He wanted to repeat the procedure after I gave birth. The 2nd colposcopy revealed a mass on my cervix that at the time my Dr. did not believe was cancer but wanted to do biopsy anyway just to be sure. I\^m glad he did. May 20th I met with the oncologist and scheduled my radical hysterectomy for June 5, 2008. I have already had some chemo and 21 radiation treatments both external and internal. I am getting ready now for full blown chemo. I start November 7th and go every month.
I\^m told this form of cancer is rare and may not be caused by HPV. Not enough is known as of yet, I\^m also told that if left undected or untreated I would have only had 36 months to live as this cancer spreads fast and furious. Thank God for Dr\^s that go above and beyond!
Thank you to my son Luke. Without him we never would have found this so soon. I\^m a fighter, I\^m on my way to being a survivor, all of us on here are survivors. I\^m so glad I found this site. We need all the support we can get.
