  • I am a cancer survivor
  • My story began in 2000 when I had an abnormal pap showing moderate dysplasia. I had to havce a cone biopsy and it was followed shortly after by a LEEP to remove the pre-cancerous cells. I wasn\^t given a lot of information about my condition but maybe for me ignorance was bliss.

A couple of years ago I developed some spotting between periods and bleeding after intercourse. I went to the gynocologist and was told I had a cervical infection and was treated with antibiotics. The bleeding subsided but returned again several months later. I bled for 5 months straight, usually spotting most days but some days I had regular period-like bleeding. I went back to the gyno and they did another pap and said I had some abnormalities so they wanted to take a small biopsy for further testing. During that time I had a weird experience that I don\^t hear much about in these shared experiences. During one of my periods, I passed two large chunks of liver-like consistency - but it almost looked like skin. The pieces were about 2 inches by 2 inches in size. I haven\^t had another episode like that but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had that happen to them?

I have put off my latest gyno appt to have my cervix scraped due to the extreme pain it puts me in when they touch my cervix. I am so afraid of the procedure that I have knowingly put myself in harm\^s way to avoid it. I don\^t know if they can do this procedure under anesthesia, but I would appreciate any advice. Thanks to all for sharing their experiences...this site is exactly what I was looking for to find information. God bless all of you!
