This is in answer to Peggy.
I was treated at Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women\^s Hospital in Boston. I believe that Mass General Hospital is also good. If you are in CT, you might want to check out Sloan Kettering in NYC. They probably have the same internal radiation (brachytherapy) technology that DFCI has.
As I stated in a previous post, I got the brachytherapy treatment as an outpatient. I went into the facility in the morning, they put me under anesthesia, and four hours later I was in the recovery room. I had to have friends pick me up afterward because they won\^t let you drive after anesthesia; the first treatment (I had five treatments in three weeks) left me a little woozy and my back hurt me for a few days due to the way they positioned me on the table while I received treatment. I told the doctor and nurses about it, they changed my positioning for the subsequent treatments and I was fine.
If you have any other questions or concerns, I\^ll try to answer them as best I can. Good luck.
