Across the country events and conferences occur throughout the year to raise awareness about cervical cancer issues and to educate health care providers and the public. Please scan current conferences and events for opportunities for you to learn and become involved in your area.

WALK IT OUT FOR CERVICAL CANCER
3rd Annual Cervical Cancer Walk

When: Sept. 10, 2011 at 12 p.m.
(Rain Date - Sept. 17)

Where: The address where the walk is starting is Firth and Gaul St., Philadelphia, PA 19125

We will walk to Penns Landing and back (almost a 5 mile walk)

When we reach Penns Landing we will be letting go of balloons (teal and white) in honor of lost loved ones of cervical cancer.

Afterward we will go back to 2400 block of East Firth St., Philadelphia, PA 19125 where we will be holding our annual cancer block party. There we will have a Chinese auction 50/50 and a little BBQ to thank everyone for participating.

Also if anyone is interested in the walk the money $25 (includes a shirt) has to be in NO LATER then Sept 1st.
All proceeds go to the NCCC in memory of RETTA SICKELS.

As you know well, cervical cancer is the second-most-common cancer among women worldwide. Every year, cervical cancer affects 500,000 women and takes the lives of a quarter million worldwide. More than half of disease occurs in Asia.

Asia Oceania research organization on Genital Infections & Neoplasia (AOGIN) was founded to promote collaboration between clinicians, scientists and health care workers with a vision to reduce the burden of female genital cancer and infections, especially HPV, in the Asia, Oceania and Pacific region.

Every two years, AOGIN represents a unique and unforgettable event attended by experts from around the world to share the latest scientific knowledge and fosters an interactive forum for the current issues on genital cancers and related diseases that would surely attract the attention of every country and participant.

Updates in the Management of Head and Neck Cancers
According to recent statistics from the NCI, the state of Georgia ranks among the highest in the nation in head and neck cancer incidence. This course will focus on defining the current standard modalities for management to insure uniformity of care of head and neck cancer and will provide an update on the latest molecular and therapeutic approaches in head and neck cancer.


The goal is to increase the opportunities for local head and neck cancer specialists to collaborate and together promote a higher quality of care and advance research in the field.
